THE RACE IS ON!!!!
Monday, 11 January 2010 22:44

The Strathpuffer race has been given the go ahead!! So this weekend Team Penguin are heading up to North Scotland taking part in what is going to be one of the most challenging and unique endurance races held in the UK (in my opinion the best!). Can't quiet believe how quickly the race has come round, having kept thinking "got ages yet", but that always happens with Team Penguin as we are no pro's, just in for the challenge and have a good time. Hopefully have another update before we leave and during the event will post pics via twitter (< link can be found on the menu tabs) if Stu's technology is working that is............

Last ride/walk before the race
Sunday, 10 January 2010 17:45

Today we (Sean & Stu) headed back to Lee Quarry to get one last ride in before the race on Saturday. We shot up the fire road to the start of the quarry with no bother as it was all compact snow and no ice. But once we got to the start the snow was stupidly deep, so we pushed on hoping it would be better further on the track. But no, it was one long push round with snow up to our knees in places! Might sound like a rubbish ride, but turned out to be a good laugh, some parts we could ride, but was a rare. It was a good test for our kits tho and the scenary was amazing. After the ride/push and messing with icicles, we headed back down and got the stove on for a nice hot brew and a sandwhich. Overall a good day out, this week is going to be taken up with work for four days and preparing bikes, kit and food inbetween so we are ready to roll come Friday.

One Week today and...........
Saturday, 09 January 2010 17:21

Well one week today we will either be pedalling/pushing the bikes around the course or at home all nice and warm watching tv. All will be confirmed by the event organisors this monday. Read on various forums about all the hard work being put into the course to make it happen, so its good to know the organisors are not going to give in that easy :)
